*Spoiler Alert! If you have not read Beautiful Dead: Jonas continue at your own risk!

Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire (October 1, 2010)
Paperback: 288 Pages
Series: Beautiful Dead # 2
Genre YA Paranormal
There's been no sign of the Beautiful Dead for weeks. Darina achingly misses Phoenix all over again. But surely he will return with the rest of the Beautiful Dead as so much still remains unresolved. It's been ten months since Arizona drowned in Hartmann Lake. Suicide, it would seem. But something doesn't add up.

Drowning herself in a hidden - away lake does not sound like strong, confident, Arizona: Ellerton High School's high-maintenance drama queen. Darina needs to help Arizona the way she helped Jonas. But time is running out...

Review by Jessica
BEAUTIFUL DEAD: ARIZONA, by Eden Maguire left me speechless and begging for more. Arizona was the second teenager of four to die from Ellerton, but was her death really a suicide? In the fast pace second installment of the Beautiful Dead series there are surpises, twists and turns. There wasn't a slow moment in this book.

From what you learn of Arizona in the first book in the series she's your typical snobby girl, who has nothing to hide and nothing to lose. She literally made me crazy while I was reading, she was so NOT helpful to Darina, but then she shows you a different side of herself and I wanted to hate her but couldn't!It frustrated me beyond belief.

Phoenix and Darina's relationship makes me absolutely lovestruck. They are literally the perfect couple, minus the fact that Phoenix is dead. They face more obstacles in this book and I long for them to be together, and for Phoenix to be alive so he and Darina can be happy without a time limit.

There was a surprising amount of violence in this one compared to the first, but Maguire twined it flawlessly into the story. New characters are introduced while Darina is solving Arizona's mystery and some of them come at your too fast and I found it a little hard to keep track of some of the characters and how they fit in but it wasn't so bad that it took away from the book at all.

I had to tell myself to close my mouth once I finished, I really can't wait for the next book in the series. I have no doubt it will be awesome!
