*SPOILER ALERT*

Publisher: Scholastic Press (July 13, 2010)
Hardcover: 368 pages
ARC from Lisa Schroeder
In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love—the light and the dark, the warm and the cold—in a way you will never forget. (Source)

Review
LINGER, by Maggie Stiefvater, is the continuation of the relationship between once-werewolf Sam and human-Grace, but with the added benefit of an unlikely pair, Cole and Isabel. Stiefvater gets into the minds of four characters in this book

The relationship between Sam and Grace in this book was enchanting to say the least. These two should go down in history books for their love and devotion to each other. Sam was dealing with the fact that he was "cured" of being a werewolf, and Grace was going through dangerous changes of her own. Sam also had to deal with the fact that he was the new Beck and would have to teach the new werewolves how to live once they turned back human for the summer. Here we meet Cole, the mysterious, sexy, rocker who wanted to just disappear but found there were complications in his plan. In Linger, the science of the werewolves and their cycles were explored in an effort to save the lives of those affected. Sam thought he knew everything about his "condition" but he turned out to be wrong.

I love Sam and Grace so much, but I honestly think that Cole stole the show in this one. I was very interested in his background and what made him the way he was. Isabel saw right through his act and they made a dynamic pair. I loved being able to get into his mind to see what made him tick and eventually why he chose his path. He surprised me at the end and I am excited to see what happens with each of these characters in Forever, the final installment of the series.
