Welcome to the Got Books? Event! This event is brought to you by GMR of Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers and The1stdaughter of There's A Book.
So what is it all about?
This is a celebration about books, but more so for the bloggers that help tell the world about them. Where did you find out about your latest read? The store...a website...the publisher...how about a book blog? Chances are if you are online or have a book blog yourself, some of your future reads came from your fellow bloggers. Whether given a glowing review or something a bit more critical, the post drew your attention and made you want to find out more. This event is to celebrate book bloggers round the world by shining a light on their efforts, spreading the word about their sites for future follows on your reading rounds, and have a little contest fun along the way!
Two key points...
1. Sites participating will be limited to book blogs only.
2. Each site will hold a contest over a 48 hour period...more specifically, this first event will take place: Friday, July 23rd, 2010 and run through Saturday, July 24th, 2010.
I think this is a pretty awesome event. You get to enter over 100 bookish giveaways AND you get to see book blogs out in the blogosphere that I can guarantee you haven't seen before. So what are you waiting for?
Let's get it started!! I have two books up for grabs today:

(SIGNED COPY!) This story was supposed to be about Evie how she hasn't made a friend in years, how she tends to stretch the truth (especially about her so-called relationship with college drop-out Jonah Luks), and how she finally comes into her own once she learns to just be herself but it isn't. Because when her classmate Elizabeth "Zabet" McCabe's murdered body is found in the woods, everything changes and Evie's life is never the same again. (Source)

Julia and Valentina Poole are normal American teenagers — normal, at least, for identical “mirror” twins who have no interest in college or jobs or possibly anything outside their cozy suburban home. But everything changes when they receive notice that an aunt whom they didn’t know existed has died and left them her amazing flat in a building by Highgate Cemetery in London. They feel that at last their own lives can begin … but they have no idea that they’ve been summoned into a tangle of fraying lives, from the OCD-suffering crossword setter who lives above them to their aunt’s mysterious and elusive lover who lives below them, and even to their aunt herself, who never got over her estrangement from the mother of the girls — her own twin — and who can’t even seem to quite leave her flat…(Source)
Fill out the form below to enter! Good luck!!
A BIG thanks to Chronicle Books and Regal Literary for supplying the prizes!
